Autumn Wishlist: Jewel Tones

JEWEL TONES. On the catwalk, jewel toned dresses were very prominent. Usually it is darker colours that dominate the wardrobe in colder months therefore winter is often thought of as a dark miserable month not only because of the shorter days.

Colour brings happiness and as everyone experiences autumn's take on colour, autumn could become the new happy season. That was just food for thought. Summer will always be my favourite.

However, it is not only jewel toned dresses taking pole position in the world of fashion; jewel toned jumpsuits are also a must. As seen at Gucci you can translate this look into a high street buy at Miss Selfridge, H&M, Asos and Dorothy Perkins.

As Gucci celebrated their 90th anniversary this year they decided to take a step back in time, just not all the way back to 1921. Instead they chose the '70s as a main inspiration for their autumn/winter collection. Fur and python added a touch of retro glamour and the splashes of colour mostly came in jewel tones; emerald being a favourite. Image from Style

I love this jumpsuit so much. The fact that it is in the sale for only £16 at only makes it even more desirable. I think it is very Gucci and I love it when I find catwalk looking pieces in high street shops. The tapered waist gives it a feminine touch but the jade colour really completes it.

Mila Kunis rocks this emerald dress. The floor sweeping gown is a perfect red carpet piece. She has a beautiful figure and has done well not to swamp herself in the beautiful material. Her pose suits the outfit, as does her hair. Image from the Teen Vogue website.

Looks like it is not just dresses and jumpsuits. Trousers seem to be changing colours this season too. At least that is what this highly trendy outfit suggests. From the blog Face Hunter is presented a very stylish girl. I love the shades and the shirt too!
