doll parts

I really feel like summer is coming to a close. However, it is still warm enough to wear my tennis skirt without tights underneath so all is not lost. How has everyone's summers been? Have you been on holiday? Has the weather been nice? How many TV series have you managed to make your way through? (Mine is a pathetically minuscule 1 because my laptop is on it's way to the grave and is aggravatingly slow.) Has anyone got a tan? Tell me all about it in the comments. Today I decided to wear every long necklace that I own which meant that everyone could hear when I was approaching which made me feel like a fictional character or something. I was aiming to look like a 7 year old; an aim that my mum unknowingly noted that I had achieved. I always want to dress like a little girl when I wear my Meadham Kirchhoff for Amazon sweatshirt because of the cute little girls (style icons in their own right, I assure you) printed on it. I am also wearing a DIY'd flower headband and American Apparel tennis skirt. Yes. I gave in to the generic-ness of the AA tennis skirt, but it was my birthday and I think that it is very flattering, well-made and versatile, so its popularity among teen girls of t'internet is entirely justified.

I stole some flowers from the vase in the kitchen to take photos with, but ended up waving them around the room to The Smiths' "Cemetery Gates." Whenever I'm holding flowers I suddenly decide I'm Morrissey. It's uncontrollable, I swear. *shifts nervously*

The above pose was inspired by Jarvis Cocker. I watched Pulp: A Film About Life, Death and Supermarkets last week. Has anyone else watched it? It was different to how I expected it to be but wonderful nonetheless. There's this really cool guy who is interviewed wearing a leopard print coat and lipstick. He tells a story of how he went to London and got mugged and when he returned to Sheffield (his hometown) he really wasn't himself, so a friend took him to the pub and told the landlord that his friend had just got back from London and he wasn't feeling himself, so the landlord put on a Pulp CD and the leopard print coat man sat in the pub all afternoon listening to Pulp and then he felt better. It's full of cute lil anecdotes like that one and I have really admitted how much indie band frontmen influence me in this post.
On the night before I went to Dorset for a week, Antonio came round to help me finish Issue 5 of Pretty Zine. He stayed until gone midnight because my scanner decided to stop working. However, we managed to get it done and it was kind of fun working into the night and we felt a bit like Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe or something. Anyway, it is now available on Etsy. I'm really proud of this issue. It explores a wide range of topics surrounding the themes of beauty, obsession and (obviously) drama. I've put mine on the windowsill in my room that represents "newness."
It would be really great if you could order a copy of Pretty. I guarantee that it will improve your life greatly. Or maybe just a little. Well, it should be fun to read at times. AND THERE'S A QUIZ. You should be sold by now. Click the links below ~~~
Two of my friends are getting more piercings on Tuesday and when I met Flower from Bobbly Rainbow Socks when I was in Dorset last week we talked about piercings and tattoos. I'm not particularly enthusiastic about getting any more piercings (I only have one in each earlobe), but I would like to get a tattoo when I turn 18 next year. I have wanted a sunflower tattoo for sometime because of Allen Ginsberg's "Sunflower Sutra" poem (if you haven't read it then I thoroughly recommend that you do: it's in its entirety here.) I was bored today so I drew a sunflower in my hand (I couldn't find a black pen.)
Journals. Antonio and I were talking about what we've achieved/experienced this year so I looked through some old journals to remind myself that sometimes (just sometimes) I do move. I also looked through them all to scan the embarrassing number of pages I have dedicated to The Smiths so that I could submit them all to Shoplifters Mag.

 Bedroom bits and bobs.

  1. THIS OUTFIT IS AMAZING. I love the AA tennis skirts honestly, even though they are so ridiculously short. There's something about the shape f them that makes me feel ON TOP OF THE WORLD. I personally have the plaid kilt-y one, though I HAVE WANTED THE WHITE ONE 4EVVAAAAAAA. U rock, this rocks.

    1. That's so cool that you have the plaid one! I love it so much and not that many other people have it (compared to the white one anyway.) I agree with you on how short they are, but mine definitely makes me feel on top of the world. Idk, it's just comfortable and flattering and goes with everything, which is such a boring way to describe a skirt, but it is beautifully made too. Aww thank you <3

  2. It´s a really nice girly regal outfit! I like the bow, so cute:)

  3. Those colors are super flattering on you! The crisp white tennis skirt is really eye-catching even though it's a pretty basic piece.

    1. Thank you :) I think that because the white's so bright it is kind of eye-catching.

If you comment I'll always love you and we can hang out and bake vegan cupcakes and drink tea and listen to sixties records. Go on, you know you want to...
