Hi, I'm Sophie. I am a writer and social media editor based in London. 

I have written for Vogue, i-D, Dazed, The Face, Teen Vogue, Vice, NME, Love, W Magazine, Refinery29, Hunger, Lit Hub, 1 Granary, Polyester, Little White Lies, SLEEK, Clash, The Forty-Five, GOAT, METAL and more. I have profiled the likes of Sydney Sweeney, Natalia Dyer, Pale Waves, Biig Piig, Chet Lo, Sinead O'Dwyer and Charlotte Knowles. 

Currently I am Social Media Editor at Crack Magazine. I am the former Fashion Editor at (now defunct) Gen Z wellness platform Woo by ITV and Copywriter and Digital Editor at MCQ by Alexander McQueen. 

 

In 2019 I completed an MA in Fashion Journalism with distinction at Central Saint Martins where I was the recipient of the inaugural Hugo Boss Scholarship for Fashion Communication. I received a first class undergraduate degree in English Literature at the University of Sheffield in 2018. I have been working as a freelance writer since December 2019.

I write a Substack called Starburned, a newsletter on culture, love, nostalgia, style, taste and nightlife. It’s for the restless dreamers, former Rookie Mag readers, 365 party girlschronic nostalgia sufferers, social media agnostics, dating app haters and perverts.

In addition to journalism, I have professional experience in social media strategy, digital marketing and copywriting. I have worked for clients including Alexander McQueen, University of the Arts London, Temperley, Hayley Menzies, MAI Productions and NEOUS.
